Taste of Italy

Italian food has always been my favorite, besides Japanese off course... ;)

In this post, I will review some of my favorite Italian food that I had from different cities!

Linguine Con Pollo with roasted chicken breast, sun dried tomatoes, parsley & basil in a cream sauce. I had this dish at Bar Italia, an Italian restaurant at Little Italy, Toronto. The pasta was al dente, chicken breast was marinated nicely, and it blends perfectly with the cream sauce!

Another dish I had from Bar Italia in Little Italy. This is comes from their brunch menu. It's an Italian frittata with pepper sausage, cheese, parsley, & basil. The frittata was a little bit dry, but overall it was a good dish. I like their pasta more..

I had this dish last year when I was still living in Sydney. It's from Balla, an Italian fine dining restaurant. It's called Galleto Alla Diavola, a wood roasted butterflied baby chicken with eggplant and Italian chili oil

Don't forget the dessert! My favorite Italian dessert has always been Gelato! The best gelato I have ever taste so far is Gelato Messina in Sydney & Melbourne, Australia. They're very creative with their flavours, from apple pie & tiramisu to classic salted caramel.

Gelato Messina also served gelato cakes. I've been lucky and got a chance to sample lots of them. It's a must foodie destination if you ever get a chance to go to Australia.

My Love for Breakfast..

They say "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day". It is sooooo true!! And that's why I love a good, delicious, and filling breakfast.

In this post, I'll review some of my favorites breakfast that I found from my journey around different cities.

A classic take on Eggs Benedict with Salmon. It's best to have it with fresh juice or smoothies on the side.

This is a Mexican style breakfast I tried while I was living in Sydney, Australia. It's a Mexican bean mix on toast with tomato, avocado, & Spanish onion salsa, topped with fried eggs. I also tried a Snickers milkshake for the first time!!

Organic Veggie Big Breakfast with baked eggs, roast tomato, avocado, roast field mushrooms, and smoky eggplant, in beans with beetroot puree, Danish feta cheese, and sourdough toast. Perfect winter breakfast that can warm you up!

Traditional English style breakfast with beans, sausages, scrambled eggs, and sourdough toast

Italian breakfast I had in Little Italy, Toronto. Italian sausages and cheese frittata with homemade potato.

Another take on the classic frittata. Organic egg and spinach frittata at Le Pain Quotidien, NYC. Have to admit that they have the best bread!

Love your breakfast too? Here's some food you'll want to wake up with....

Japan Food Trip!

I've been wanting to post about my food trip in Japan and finally got the time now!

My Japan trip covered the 3 most popular destinations: Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

Here's some photos I gathered from my trip!

First dinner/midnight snack I had after I landed in Tokyo. It's called onigiri or rice ball in English. It's made with white rice wrapped in nori (seaweed)

Traditional Tempura Cold Soba. The dipping sauce, called Mentsuyu, is the best part!

Trip to Japan is not a trip without Sushi! Go to a traditional "sushi train" restaurant and feel the experience for yourself. It's a fun experience and you get to have lots of choices of sushi.

Make sure you don't miss out on an authentic Japanese BBQ experience. You get to choose the meat you want and cook it yourself. Highlight of the meats selection that worth a try are the Wagyu and Beef Tongue.

Japanese take on pasta. Chicken Garlic pasta with nori on top and warm breads on the side. It's something different to have if you're bored with all the Japanese style food.

Cute Hello Kitty donuts & cupcakes at Hello Kitty Land in Universal Studio, Osaka. It's too cute to be eaten!

Another food highlight in Osaka that you can't miss: TAKOYAKI balls! Takoyaki is a snack made of wheat flour and typically mixed with diced octopus. Pictures are taken from the Takoyaki Museum in Osaka.

Watch for my next food trip adventure with more destinations and food to come!
